Dear Patients:

Our office follows infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). We follow the activities of these agencies so that we are up-to-date on any new rulings or guidance that may be issued. We do this to make sure that our infection control procedures are current and adhere to each agencies’ recommendations.

You may see some changes when it is time for your next appointment. We made these changes to help protect our patients and staff. Please be patient with us as we all adapt to this new “normal”.

For example:

· Our office will communicate with you beforehand to ask some screening questions. You’ll be asked those same questions again when you are in the office.

· We ask that you wear a facemask in the office, if possible, but NO GLOVES.

· We have hand sanitizer that we will ask you to use when you enter the office. You will also find some in the reception area and other places in the office for you to use as needed.

· You may see that our waiting room will no longer offer magazines, children’s toys and so forth, since those items are difficult to clean and disinfect.

· Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing between patients. That might mean that you’re offered fewer options for scheduling your appointment.

· We will do our best to allow greater time between patients to reduce waiting times for you, as well as to reduce the number of patients in the reception area at any one time.

We look forward to seeing you again and are happy to answer any questions you may have about the steps we take to keep you, and every patient, safe in our practice.

Thank you for being our patient. We value your trust and loyalty and look forward to welcoming back our patients, neighbors and friends.

Keep Smiling!

Porcelain Veneers for a Flawless Smile that Looks Natural

If you feel uncomfortable showing your smile because of chipped, cracked, discolored, or slightly misaligned teeth, we can help. We offer a variety of cosmetic dentistry treatments, including porcelain veneers, at our Minerva, OH, dental practice and our other locations. Veneers are extremely thin shells of medical-grade porcelain that attach permanently to the front surfaces of individual teeth. This relatively quick and easy treatment can conceal many types of blemishes and help you attain the smile you have always wanted.

Having a smile you can truly be proud of can open doors and could even be life-changing.

Understanding the Procedure

Porcelain veneers are custom-crafted to fit directly over the fronts of your teeth. With extreme precision and a keen eye for the aesthetics, our doctors will design your veneers to conceal blemishes and complement your facial features. Your smile will appear flawless, but still look beautifully natural.

The treatment typically requires two visits, completed in three simple steps.

  • Planning: During the initial stage, you will have a consultation with one our doctors to discuss your cosmetic goals and determine the extent of your treatment.
  • Preparing: To prepare your teeth for veneers, it is necessary to remove a small portion (less than 1 millimeter) of tooth enamel. This will allow the extra space necessary for properly placing the veneers. While you wait for the veneers to be crafted by our dental laboratory, we will provide you with temporaries to wear.
  • Placing: We will use a special bonding process to securely attach the veneers to the surfaces of your teeth. Once this step is complete, we will test your bite and make any necessary fine adjustments. You may also be scheduled for a follow-up visit to check your veneers in a week or two.

Are Veneers Right for Me?

If your teeth are cosmetically flawed, but are still strong and healthy, you may be a good candidate for porcelain veneers. For example, patients with deep or intrinsic stains on their teeth that do not respond well to teeth whitening can be excellent candidates for porcelain veneers.

One of the best things about veneers is their versatility. In addition to being able to correct a wide variety of cosmetic concerns, veneers can be placed on any number of your visible teeth. In this regard, they can give you a subtle boost or they can noticeably transform your smile.

If you need any type of restorative procedure to return health to your teeth and gums, you should have it completed before you get veneers. Some patients may be better candidates for dental crowns or possibly dental implants. During your consultation, we will help you determine which treatment is right for you.
