Dear Patients:

Our office follows infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). We follow the activities of these agencies so that we are up-to-date on any new rulings or guidance that may be issued. We do this to make sure that our infection control procedures are current and adhere to each agencies’ recommendations.

You may see some changes when it is time for your next appointment. We made these changes to help protect our patients and staff. Please be patient with us as we all adapt to this new “normal”.

For example:

· Our office will communicate with you beforehand to ask some screening questions. You’ll be asked those same questions again when you are in the office.

· We ask that you wear a facemask in the office, if possible, but NO GLOVES.

· We have hand sanitizer that we will ask you to use when you enter the office. You will also find some in the reception area and other places in the office for you to use as needed.

· You may see that our waiting room will no longer offer magazines, children’s toys and so forth, since those items are difficult to clean and disinfect.

· Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing between patients. That might mean that you’re offered fewer options for scheduling your appointment.

· We will do our best to allow greater time between patients to reduce waiting times for you, as well as to reduce the number of patients in the reception area at any one time.

We look forward to seeing you again and are happy to answer any questions you may have about the steps we take to keep you, and every patient, safe in our practice.

Thank you for being our patient. We value your trust and loyalty and look forward to welcoming back our patients, neighbors and friends.

Keep Smiling!

Who Can Benefit from Dentures?

Generally, our doctors recommend dentures for patients missing a large number of teeth or those who have lost all of their teeth. A custom denture can restore your ability to eat and speak properly. Dentures also provide support for facial muscles, improving your overall appearance.

At Dowell Dental Group, we offer a variety of denture types, allowing us to tailor treatment to each patient’s needs.

A wide range of patients can experience the benefits of traditional dentures. However, if you are interested in replacing your teeth with an implant-supported restoration, you will need to meet additional requirements, including:

  • Healthy gums
  • Sufficient jawbone tissue
  • Overall good health

The best way to find out which type of denture is right for you is to schedule an appointment at one of our offices. Dr. Dowell or Rossi can perform a comprehensive oral health exam and discuss your goals, budget, and medical history with you. Based on their evaluation, they can recommend the optimal restoration type for your unique needs.

Explore Your Options

At Dowell Dental Group, we offer a variety of denture types, allowing us to tailor treatment to each patient’s needs. The right option for you will depend on the number of teeth you have lost and your current oral health, along with several other factors.

Full Conventional Dentures

For patients who have lost all of their teeth in their upper or lower jaws, full dentures offer an affordable solution. This type of restoration consists of a gum-colored acrylic base and artificial teeth. The base fits over your gums and is held in place with a combination of suction and dental adhesive.

Traditional dentures are a good option for patients who want to quickly replace missing teeth. They generally only require two appointments, one to take impressions and one to fit the dentures. However, since they are removable, patients may notice their dentures slip out of place or rub against their gums.

Partial Traditional Dentures

Patients who still have some of their teeth may benefit from a partial traditional denture. Another affordable tooth replacement option, partials also have gum-colored bases and artificial teeth. However, they also have small metal hooks which provide additional support.

Implant-Supported Dentures

Patients who qualify for dental implants can take advantage of the unparalleled stability of implant-supported dentures. With this type of restoration, your denture attaches to small titanium posts embedded into the jawbone. Implant-supported dentures look, fit, and feel like natural teeth.

However, implant-supported dentures require you to undergo implant placement surgery and often cost significantly more than traditional dentures. Be sure to fully discuss your medical history with Dr. Dowell or Rossi to ensure implants are the right treatment option for you.
